NPCA staff and board members joined community members in celebrating Peace Corps Week.

Vice President Carla Brown attended the annual Peace Prize presentation hosted by the Raleigh-based North Carolina Peace Corps Association and will also attend the annual meeting of the Northern California Peace Corps Association this week. NPCA Board Chair John Lee Evans participated in the annual “Taste of the World” fundraiser hosted by the San Diego RPCVs. Board member Mike Roman spoke at a public viewing of the Peace Corps documentary A Towering Task, organized by the Central Ohio RPCV Association. In Virginia, NPCA board member JJ Singh, now the newest member of the Virginia House of Delegates, celebrated Peace Corps Week on the House floor—Watch now.

Throughout Peace Corps Week (and a few days beyond), we tracked coverage of the Peace Corps in media outlets nationwide. Leading up to NPCA’s National Days of Advocacy, at least 25 of our advocates contributed through letters to the editor, feature stories, and TV reports across sixteen states, reaching a potential audience of four million people.
